The Federation of Malaysia comprises Peninsular Malaysia and states of Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo. It is located between the 2 and 7 degrees north of the Equator. To the north of the Peninsular Malaysia is Thailand while the southern part is neighbouring Singapore. The capital of Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur and is well known for the Twin Towers that are the tallest twin building in the World.
The Malaysian population is composed of the Asia’s oldest civilizations - Malays, Chinese, Indians. It is indeed a blend of diverse culture with an added influence of British, Portuguese, Dutch and Thais. Furthermore, even though the national language is the Bahasa Malaysia, the English is widely spoken.
In addition, Malaysians live in a multi-religious society. Islam is the official religion but other religions such as Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism and Sikhism are practiced freely.
